The name Baredu comes from Oromo. It means “beautiful”, which is at the heart of everything we create. We design leather goods that feel personal and practical, with a quiet kind of confidence. Nothing loud. Nothing excessive. Just pieces that fit effortlessly into everyday life.

Founded in 2023, Baredu began with a desire to create leather goods that are accessible, timeless, and thoughtfully made. From the beginning, the focus has been on working with local artisans, choosing high-quality materials, and ensuring every piece is crafted with care and purpose.

Each Baredu piece is made here in Kenya, one piece at a time. We collaborate with skilled artisans who bring years of experience to every stitch.

We work with a range of trusted suppliers across Kenya and are proud to source some of our leather from the only gold-rated tannery on the continent, certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG). It’s a detail that reflects our commitment to responsible sourcing.
